  • chromosome 17 open reading frame 25
  • glyoxalase domain containing 4
Description
GLOD4 belongs to the glyoxalase I family. It is expressed in heart, brain, liver, kidney, pancreas and placenta; it is not expressed in skeletal muscle and lung. There is evidence that GLOD4 expression is decreased in hepatocellular carcinoma samples as compared to adjacent non-cancerous liver tissues from the same patients. Transfection in hepatocellular carcinoma cells and overexpression can inhibit the cell growth.
