Description
The BVES gene encodes a protein that is a member of the POP family and is thought to contain three transmembrane domains. The protein is a cell adhesion molecule involved in the establishment and/or maintenance of cell integrity. It is present in cardiac and skeletal muscle and may play an important role in development of these tissues. There are three transcript variants that all encode the same protein.
