Sharon E. Davis, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics. She is a biomedical informatician with formal statistical training and a background in public health, whose current research emphasizes clinical predictive analytics, data simulation, machine learning, and post-marketing surveillance. She is particularly interested in addressing the practical challenges of applied predictive analytics for healthcare, focusing on methods supporting the implementation of evolving predictive models within clinically useful interventions that sustain performance over time. She has developed a suite of generalizable and customizable methods for data-driven model updating, laying the groundwork for automated model surveillance systems promoting the long-term performance and utility of models underlying a variety of decision support and population management tools. The arc of Dr. Davis' career and her current focus on methods promoting practical, implementable clinical prediction tools are guided by a commitment to leveraging health and data sciences to develop tools that empower individuals and foster healthy communities.
