- Description
- Angiostatin is a fragment of plasminogen, a protein coded by the PLG gene. Angiostatin is known to inhibit angiogenesis. Cleavage of the plasminogen peptide bond between Arg-561 and Val-562 converts plasminogen to its active form, plasmin, and also releases the angiostatin fragment.
