Immune/inflammatory biomarkers for head and neck cancer

Robert L. Ferris, M.D., Ph.D. is Chief of Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology and Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. His laboratory is focused on understanding basic immunological mechanisms of the T lymphocyte response to cancer, for the development of novel immunotherapeutic approaches to head and neck tumors. In addition his group is interested in developing immune/inflammatory biomarkers for head and neck cancer detection and monitoring in populations at risk for recurrence and/or second primary tumors.
