This biomarker is also known as:- endosialin,
- CD164L1,
- CD164 sialomucin-like 1,
- tumor endothelial marker 1,
- CD248 antigen, endosialin,
- TEM1,
- Endosialin,
Description…
CD248 is a 165-kD cell surface glycoprotein expressed in tumor endothelial cells but absent or barely detectable in normal endothelial cells. There is also evidence that CD248 is expressed in metastatic lesions of the liver and during angiogenesis of corpus luteum formation and wound healing, in vascular endothelial cells of malignant tumors but not in normal blood vessels, and in stromal fibroblasts.
